I will post pictures soon...
We had a great weekend until the end! Sunday afternoon we went to a swim party. We were having a great time until my sweet Lane tripped in the water falling face first into the concrete wall that lined the pool! It just happened in slow motion, as I saw the falling comming there was NOTHING I could do to catch him. He came up with blood just everywhere, and of coarse, being two, he was just screeming and we couldn't tell where all the blood was comming from exactly! As I snuggled him, daddy tried to see what was wrong....and he said " OH MY!!! IT IS HIS TEETH!" They were not knocked out, but knocked to a 45 degree angle back!!!! It was the worst site I have ever had to see. We quickly gathered out stuff and left to get home and get swimsuits off and to make emergency calls! We got a hold of our dentist Dr. Pete and he said " yeah...meet me at my office, he HAS to get in tonight!" I have never felt so much anxiety as I did driving to the dentist office. Just knowing that my child was in so much pain and it was only going to get worse and there was nothing in the world I could do to take it away! You just can't fathom the saying " I wish I could take away your pain" until you are a parent. At that moment I would have given my life to take it all away.
When we got to the office daddy had to be the one to hold him down because he was fighting so hard. Dr. Pete was able to get an injection in him which ultimately helped control pain while he got a few pictures and then tried to push them back up into place!!! All the while, I was squatting on the floor with my fingers as far down my ears as I could get them so I didn't have to hear his screeming cry, with tears of my own making a puddle at my feet.
So..we tried to 'put them back in place' only to learn that the impact of the fall had losened the socket so much that they just fell right back to a 45 degree angle. And the inevitable news came and I cried again...they were going to have to come out. They were already out just conected by one little straned. So now my sweet baby or "Radio" (from the movie) is what Will calls him has two missing teeth! He has come such a long way in his speech and I fear he might regress with a new found 'hole' and so an upward climb we will go again. He unfortunately will have to look like a little hobo for about 6 months to a year until he is old enough to have a little retainer that we can have made with impressions of his little teeth for cosmetic reasons.(and possibly for his speech too.
**Side note: Nolan thinks it is SO COOL that Lane has lost his teeth and can't wait for the tooth fairy to come. (I have not been ready to celebrate quite yet :)
So please pray for our sweet Lane and his 'new' look and for his speech.

My precious family, I know this was so traumatic for all of you. As a Mom, there is NOTHING worse than seeing your baby hurt and in pain. Little Lane's mama gave us many scares, so I know the feeling all too well. We will just trust in God that all of this will work out and Lane will continue to improve with his speech. Love to all!
