"The Lord has told you what is good. He has told you what he wants from you: Do what is right to other people. Love being kind to others and live humbly, trusting your God."

Today is special!

While so many of us mourn the loss of our nation on September 11th, our family has reason to celebrate on September 12!

This day is special to us because....

Lane is 3!

Pops is ???
We love you and miss you!

and finally, last but not least the amazing gift my dad gave

(by the way, he will NOT be very happy that I shared this)

an amazing series of events and the hands of God made it possible that my family was forever bonded with another family six years ago; The Austin's.

A bit of brief history... we moved to our new house when I was in the 3rd grade. On our block lived the Austin's. Their daughter Allison (Alli) became my best friend and for the next ten years (until we left for college) we were inseperable. Through those years of friendship we became family.

Unfortunately, her brother was in need of a kidney which his own father gave to him a couple of years prior, and now he was in need of another transplant. My dad, not blood related in anyway was a match! To those not familiar with this process; a NON- family member, much less someone you know is RARELY a perfect match. Some people spend years on a waiting list. So it was obviously God's plan that the paths of our families crossed so many years ago.

I am greatful and proud to have a dad so willing to give to others, a legacy that he will always be known for. Thank you dad for your generosity and your humble heart; a character trait that I pray for in each of my children.

To date: Conner is doing very well with his wife Leslie. We don't get to see their family nearly as often as I would like, but they each hold a special place in my heart. Conner, we pray for you and your health daily and look forward to visiting you all hopefully soon! My dad is also doing great!

So ...CHEERS...to 6 years!

A picture of my dad with Nolan. The pictures I have of Conner and my dad that special day were taken before the days of 'digital' cameras...crazy!

You are such a sweet daughter and thanks for the thoughtful words for your Dad! He will be so embarrassed! Our prayer is that our grandchildren will have a kind and respectful heart also!
